Introduction
A very good day to everyone. I'm Cecelia Phoo Wing Xin, matric number 278837. Have you ever wondered where the food on your table comes from? Apple from Australia, Mandarin Orange from China, Beef imported from Australia, and milk from New Zealand. Accessibility to food has never been a problem. We can always prepare food we like or enjoy foreign country food any time we want. What can be wrong with that? When it comes to buying food that is not grown where we live, we have to ask ourselves several questions. Where did it come from? Can its origin be traced? How did it get to our table? According to GOgreen.com, buying local food doesn’t create large carbon footprints through overseas plane travel or long truck trips which is friendly to our environment. I have researched this topic and enrolled in sustainable diet courses from United Nations E-Learning before. So, today I would like to discuss the problems of not buying local food, propose solutions and explain the benefits.
Body
Conclusion
In many ways, it makes a lot of sense to choose local and fresh seasonal food by becoming more concise about our choice of food to reduce our carbon footprint. This doesn't mean it is an end to imported seasonal food but next time we might opt for a frozen pack or can. We can also choose orange and lemon, their thick skin allows them for transportation by ship rather than a plane so their carbon footprint is very low. Therefore, why not give local products a chance that you may never tried before? You might be pleasantly surprised. So just take a trip to the market and see what you find. That’s all from me. Thank you.

Today is the first day of my first curriculum activities in my fourth semester which is my last semester for curriculum activities. Same as the previous semester, madam use her energy and enthusiastic voice to start our very first class on Saturday. She asked us 'how is our semester', 'do we feel stressed' and then she shared the QR code attendance for us to scan. After our code attendance, madam asked our previous president Michelle to conduct the nomination process for this semester which is exciting for every one of us. And here comes to our very first rule which is those previous AJK cannot be nominated as AJK again because we need to give chances for other students to gain experiences.
While Michelle was doing the nomination form for us to vote, madam required us to read the KLK slide and ask our opinion on whether we wanted to organize a KLK activity. KLK is an event that will benefit the community and gain knowledge. However, most of our classmates are not interested to organize a KLK activity after voting through a google form. So we decided not to do a KLK activity for this semester. After we discuss about KLK activity, Michelle finally finished her nomination form and we started to nominate our classmates. However, there are only a few people who nominated themselves and some of them specifically want a role such as exco activity or exco souvenir. Most importantly, there is no one willing to take the president and vice president roles. It's made the nomination process became lengthy. After about 30 minutes to 40 minutes, we finally have a new list of exco for this semester.
We finally proceed to the last agenda for today after nomination which is to plan an activity for our last class. It's very exciting that we can go out with our classmates and have lunch together. Most of us provide ideas in whatapps group such as picnic, movie day, musical chair, etc which is very attractive and interesting. The process of throwing ideas and discussing increases our bonding and relationship. After a few minutes, we finally decide on our activity for the last class which is having lunch together. I can't wait to attend our last class activity!

Today is our second public speaking class and I faced some technical issues while joining the class. I had to restart my wifi and also my laptop. While I was fixing my technical issues, I received a call from a classmate which is Darren asking me to join the class today because he worried that I might forget about today's class. When I finally solve my technical issues, I received a message from Chi Kin asking me to join the class. I'm so grateful that I was able to meet classmates like this who was worried about my attendance and help out when I faced a problem. So when I settled everything, I unmute my mic and tell madam that I finally joined the class today.
After madam added my attendance manually, she started to brief us about the syllabus and tasks this semester which includes, planning an event, writing a reflection, recording a persuasive speech, attending ONCE activity, and telling us about the importance of our curriculum attendance. Moreover, madam asked us to continue to use weebly for task submission and also group with our previous teammates which are very lucky that I can be in the same group with the same bunch of amazing people again. Next, madam taught us what is persuasive speech and assigns us to a breakroom room with our teammates. In the breakout room, our team leader Kai Sheng asked us to watch the 3 videos that madam required us to watch and create a mind map. So, after watching the video, our leader distribute tasks to us so that everyone knows what to do. After about 20 minutes, we received the notification that the breakout room is going to end and we got transferred back to the main room.
Madam required us to do sharing of persuasive speech and start from group 1 to group 9. Every leader has provided their group discussion and experiences during the sharing session which is very informative and knowledgeable. I learn that we need to have extra preparation before doing a persuasive speech and also the differences between persuasive speech and other speech. After we finished sharing session, madam asked us to think about a topic for our persuasive speech and write our topic into a google doc so that no one will overlap with our theme. And that's the end of our class today which is very fun and knowledgeable.

Today is our third co-curriculum activity! As many of us are already back on campus this week, madam recommended a lot of delicious food in UUM or outside UUM while sharing the QR code attendance with us. Besides recommending delightful food to us, she also recommends places such as GO-Cart, Ostrich farm, and Deer farm to encourage us to explore UUM! She also told us not to worry about cats because cats can provide therapy when we stress and study hard. After listening to what the madam said, I became more excited to explore the campus!
After recommendation by madam, the lecturer has briefed us on what we needed to do for today's class. Every group has a different topic to discuss, such as theories of persuasion, types of persuasive speech, ethos, logos and pathos, persuasive technique, and type of speech. Our group got to discuss types of persuasive speech, and after that, madam assigned us to a breakout room so that we could discuss together.
During the breakout room session, our leader, Kai Sheng, led us on what we needed to do step by step. He suggests everyone read the article first before we start to discuss it. After everyone had finished reading, we began to exchange our ideas and brainstorm about the example we could give to relate to the topic. After we finished the discussion, Kai Sheng asked if any of us wanted to volunteer for the presentation later. As I had never done a presentation this semester, I volunteered to be the presenter afterward, madam closed the breakout room, and every one of us got to transfer back to the main room. Every group has given a clear and concise explanation of their topic and has gained a lot of knowledge in today's class; madam only asks five groups to present due to the time constraint. Therefore, I did not get the chance to present today.
After the presentation, madam has given us another task which is analyzing the speech of President Joko Widodo. Madan assigned us to the breakout room again, and we discussed and distributed tasks in the breakout session. Lastly, we had successfully finished the task within the given time.
That’s the end of the class. I get to know more about UUM and the technique and different types of persuasive speech. I hope I can learn more knowledge in our next curriculum class!

Today is our fourth curriculum activity! Our first activity today is presenting the speech of the President Joko Widodo. Every group has provided their insight and opinion on the speech. From the presentation, I learn that use a different perspective to analyze a speech and also use real-life examples to relate to the speech. There are groups using social judgment theory and likelihood model to analyze the speech which is an open eye to me because I never thought of that. It is because I can only think of analyzing the speech by using public speaking techniques but will not think about real-life examples. This activity has made me become more observant and analytical. Next, I also learn that the use of repetition of the same word can emphasize his aim or goals during the speech, and the word “we” can let the audience accept what the speaker needs to deliver.
After every group presented for the speech of President Joko Widodo. Madam assigns us our second activity of the day. I have never thought of public speaking can be so much fun as translating Aidilfitri's song into an English version. This activity has required us to use proper English to do translation by not running away from the meaning of the lyrics which is very challenging and cringing for us. Our group chooses Selamat Hari Raya which is sung by Saloma. We have discussed the choice of words and how to sing the song by following the rhythm. This activity allows all group members to open their microphones to sing. Everyone is having a fun time. That’s the end of the class. I cant wait to have the next curriculum class!

Today is our fifth curriculum activity! Madam join a bit late today because her previous class is having a group presentation. After that, madam shows us the QR code attendance as usual while talking with us and ask about our body condition. Next, madam gave us a briefing about our group discussion today which is choosing a movie or novel to persuade our classmates.
Our group has several ideas on movie choices such as UP, Spiderman: No way home, etc. After some discussion, we finally choose a movie we want to persuade which is Spiderman: No way home. We found out that there are three lessons we can learn from Spiderman: No way home that can share with our classmates which is revenge is never the answer, saving the villains is saving a life, and with great power comes great responsibility.
After 1 hour discussion, madam transfer us into a breakout room and every group started their presentation to persuade us to watch movies they recommend such as Upin & Ipin, Godfather, etc. Every group is showing their enthusiasm to persuade us to watch the movie. And finally is my group turns! As I had never presented in our public speaking class, I volunteer to be the representative to persuade our classmate to watch Spiderman: No way home. I am damn nervous at first because I was scared I’m not performing well in public speaking. I speak in a low voice, however, madam stopped my presentation and advised me to speak with tone and share some pictures with classmates. If not they can't focus on my speech because of my boring voice, then only I realised I made a big mistake in public speaking and I should always be confident when I want to persuade people or I speak. Therefore, I take a deep breath and try as much as I can to finish my speech.
Due to the time constraint, there are still some of the group that cant present today. Therefore, madam postponed their presentation to next week and that’s the end of our class. I have learned to be more confident while I speak or persuade people. I hoped that I can gain more confidence during presentations in the next class.

Today is our second last public speaking class, we continued the previous class session, which is movie recommendation. The presentation starts from group 6 to group 9. Every one of them provides a good explanation for the movie and had persuade me to watch those movies they recommend!
After their presentation, madam informed us that we need to plan a farewell event for our last class. Therefore, our president comes out and lead us to a discussion. Every one of us is required to contribute to the event so that the event will be successful and full of memories. Our president has separate tasks for us such as preparing meals, safety, technical, activities, and so on. Every group have their own task on event day to ensure the event will be run smoothly. Furthermore, we also discuss the venue, activities and meals for our farewell event. Throughout the discussion, I feel surprised by the president’s leadership while handling the discussion among classmates. No matter how many questions or ideas thrown by our classmates, he can still listen to everyone's opinion and respect their thoughts. I feel lucky that we can work with a leader like him.

Today is our last public speaking class and we had a farewell in Dewan TM! To ensure the flow and activity of this physical farewell we have used almost one hour of our previous class to discuss and delegate tasks. Every group have to contribute to the farewell in terms of activities, logistics and so on. Furthermore, every group need to bring one dish to share with classmates during the farewell. Therefore, our group decided to bring pudding after the discussion. Everyone of us has contributed RM4 to buy the pudding and our leader, Kai Sheng has volunteered himself to buy the puddings. As we have been assigned to be part of the technician during farewell, we have also brought laptop to Dewan TM to become a backup solution if the media in Dewan TM does not function.
From my perspective, there are no problems that occurred during our farewell. The flow of the event is smooth which starts with meals, games and speech. Even though the spaghetti is coming late, it actually makes me more excited to have a try on the spaghetti. As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait, the solution for the spaghetti is to reserve it to the closing plenary!
Followed by the activity in farewell such as first impression, werewolf and musical chairs is super fun everyone is enjoy and have a happy smile on their face. Kudos to Team activity! They really put their effort in planning and executive those games for everyone!
Furthermore, our president, Fazril have gave a speech to everyone. He is confident while giving his speech. I agree with what he deliver and appreciate his time and effort for being our president He always take care of every classmates and he always volunteer to help us such as collecting koko shirt. I appreciate his effort and time for being our president. I hope I can be leadership as him in my future. After that, madam gave her final speech too. She wish us all the best in the future. I appreciate those knowledge she gave us throughout the semester and will definitely use those knowledge wisely in the future.
Lastly, I am glad that I have attended today's farewell party as I can finally meet my classmates and Madam physically. Everyone is so nice and friendly and we even exchange instagram account after our farewell! However, every journey must come to an end that does not exclude our curriculum as well. It was a fruitful journey and had provide us an unforgettable memory in my university life. Thank you everyone!
