Good morning, audience. How are you today? I think you are all very nice, right?
Today, I'm going to discuss this topic with you to let you know how important this thing is. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, people all over the world, including governments and all economic sectors, have been affected. Many unknown factors surrounding COVID-19 make it difficult for any enterprise to accurately predict how this will affect its revenue. But Steven J. Davis of Booth Business School in Chicago said that business leaders surveyed in March predicted a sharp drop in sales-a decline that only occurred in the survey later this month.
Davis also said that the large-scale economic impact is an obvious product of COVID-19, but the virus will also change business in other aspects. Even if the epidemic situation is alleviated, the technology and shopping platforms that promote social distance may continue to play a new and important role, while enterprises that rely on travel and face-to-face interaction may face a long-term decline in demand.
The influence of COVID-19 on business is a very important and interesting issue. There's a lot to say. Then I will just get to the point! During the outbreak of COVID-19, we asked hundreds of enterprises: "What impact do you expect the development of coronavirus in 2020 to have on your sales revenue?" The average answer is about 6%. Therefore, this is a considerable negative impact. Moreover, the enterprises themselves have seen that their sales revenue and operation will be severely hit in 2020. However, with the passage of time, entrepreneurs' expectations have gradually been lost, and some businesses have closed down because of unstable income. This is a very serious recession, which represents the worsening of China's economy.
More importantly,
No one really knows now. Development changes with each passing day. We don't know how long the epidemic will continue to accelerate. At this point, we really don't know how contagious and deadly this virus is, because we really don't have good information about how many people have already suffered from this disease and recovered from it.
Therefore, we are still in a very dark state in medical treatment, which makes it very difficult to assess the final economic consequences. This crisis will have some far-reaching effects on the labour market. You can already see some early fluctuations. Thus, the government has been relying on vaccines developed by China, the United States, Britain and other countries to alleviate domestic virus infection.
How do we solve the sales revenue decrease?
As we know, reducing expenses is one of the strategies to avoid expenses more than sales revenue. 34% of business owners said they have cut costs this year, and half said the coronavirus influenced the change highly. Business expenses not directly related to creating products or services could be eating your budget. Reducing these unnecessary expenses can increase your bottom line or keep your company afloat during hard times. At the very least, analyzing your monthly expenses can help you determine which are critical and which you could cut if needed. Start by weighing your overhead costs. Overhead costs include things like rent and utilities, office supplies, and maintenance. If your cash flow has slowed to a drip, discontinue nonessential services, cancel, or reduce premium services, or negotiate with suppliers to get a lower rate.
Next, the entrepreneur should focus on health and safety for the employees and customers. 32% of business owners say they’re investing in more visible health and safety protocols in the aftermath of the coronavirus. After all, experts believe that many consumers may still feel nervous to resume normal activities as restrictions lift. Customers and employees alike will want to know you’re doing everything you can to keep them safe. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website is a good place to start for health and safety resources. Find out how to keep your employees healthy and safely resume business operations and get cleaning and disinfecting guidance. If you haven’t already, now is a good time to examine your sick leave and remote work policies. You might look for ways to minimize contact between employees and customers and train employees to operate in a post-pandemic environment.
Furthermore, the entrepreneur should think big. 22% of business owners say they’ve developed new products and services this year. 86% of them say the coronavirus has influenced those innovations. Business owners who once relied on foot traffic have had to rethink their marketing. Service-based businesses have had to reimagine their offerings to abide by social distancing guidelines. And many restaurants and retail businesses have had to reinvent their menus or products to support e-commerce and delivery. Many business owners say they have invested significantly more in virtual services and technology. Others have adopted a completely new business model to adapt to post-pandemic society. Small businesses across the globe are making big changes—and those changes are paying off. One in 4 business owners says recent innovations have nearly doubled their revenue.
Additionally, domestic businesses have begun to develop online purchasing services, home delivery services, and commercial delivery services. Because of the epidemic situation, most people didn't go out to buy food and daily necessities, so the demand for delivery services rose sharply. After the crisis, some of them will fade, but not all of them. First of all, in the past month, millions of people may already know how to order food online. Once they overcome this obstacle, some of them will find that they like it, and some will continue-either for convenience or because people have lingering worries about the health effects of going to a sitting restaurant or crowded grocery store. The change of online purchase and on-site delivery will be a huge change, and I think this change can bring economic reversal to the country.
If you want to see success in 2020 and beyond, it’s time to think big about your business. That's all for me, thank you.

REFLECTION

Good morning madam. Today is the first day of taking co-curricular classes in my third semester. Over three-semester, we were conducting our class online because the Covid-19 is still continuing to spread around our country. I felt happy to choose public speaking as my co-curricular. I am glad that madam is still been our lecturer for this semester because I really enjoy madam's teaching method, it was interesting, enjoyable, and improved my public speaking skills. In the class today, we scan the attendance as usual. Moreover, madam will ask us about the current situation and what we doing while the semester break. After this, the students starting to nominate their own to be every particular position and every student will be a vote for the candidates.
I found that some of the classmates are not satisfied with the result of the vote because of communication problems. Hence, I think that we should improve our communication skills, solved-problem skills, and other skills. Additionally, my weakness as a public speaker is timid. Every time I speak in front of all people, I get nervous and my hands shake. In order to overcome this problem, I will try my best to overcome it and say to myself, "I can do it".

Today was the second class with madam. After scanning the attendance, madam had given us some time to share our opinion about the task of video summary. The opinions of the classmates are great because their explanations are very clear, it is proved that they put the effort to do the task by the madam given and try to understand the content of the video. Until the second video of "The Barriers of Communication”, our team leader who is Chuah Kai Sheng wanna share his opinion on the video. Additionally, the complement and feedback are given by madam in fact improved the topic what we get the points.
After that, madam shared with us about event protocols & greetings and titles. This topic is very fresh because I have never touched this topic before. Madam opened the slideshow to show us the checklist of event protocol, the key items such as invitation, dateline, timeline, and so on. It is important that all units/persons named on an invitation approve the mock-up PRIOR to it being disseminated. Besides that, I also learn that images are also important for us because are the way we introduce ourselves or others, the way we shake hands, our posture, eye contact reflect our image. I also learn that how to improve my small talk ability and what can do & don't during small talk.
At the end of the class, madam gives the new task about the book summary and we have two weeks to do the task.

Today is the third week of public speaking. How time flies! Today, as usual, scan the attendance rate, and then madam will ask about our recent situation. After chatting, madam shared her screen, which was about the slides uploaded in UUMOL to study separately. In addition, my wife gave us a task, that is, the audience analysis and the 15-minute speech script should be finished before class ends. It's really a bit nerve-racking to write a lecture in an hour. After reading the slide show, I had no idea at all, so I kept visiting the website for inspiration. As a result, I realized how writing covid-19 would affect businesses. At this moment, I see that my family is in bad business because of covid-19, so I think of doing this topic.
I want to use this lecture to express what I want, as long as it is useful to people. Not only that, but before we think about the theme of the speech, we must know our target audience according to demographics. Is this kind of topic too boring for them and so on. So we must consider every detail for the audience to ensure that they meet our topic.
To sum up, I learned a lot in today's class.

In today's class, madam gave us a group and personal task. The task about groups is to ask each group to make a video presentation and make a poster. The personal task is to ask each student to write a reflection on their group dynamics, the behavior of group members and other aspects on Weebly. Madam has explained the details of these tasks to us.
After that, madam soon finished the class, because she wanted to discuss the details of the task for us and our respective groups. Our group uses WhatsApp as a discussion platform. At the same time, kai sheng also listed the video demonstration parts, started to distribute the tasks, and set a deadline for me to edit the video. Everyone in the group actively participated in the discussion, so we quickly ended the discussion and sent the discussion process to the teacher in the group.
In short, today's class also made me learn some knowledge. I hope our group can successfully complete all tasks.

Before starting the class, madam asked all of us to turn on the camera to take pictures. Today, madam explained to us how to arrange the information ideas of the speech. Besides, madam teaches us how to draft the script in chronologically followed by the outline, draft and speech arrangement. By following all these steps, we can improve our script before video recording. After that, we have a class activity to determine the theme, paper statement, main points, support points and so on from a speech on childhood obesity. This activity helped me understand the outline of the script. In addition, I realized the importance of a subject in our script.
Finally, we held a small sharing meeting to understand each other's feelings in public speaking. Some people said they were nervous, some people said they were scared, and some people were so panic that they stuttered and so on. It turns out that I'm not the only one who feels scared. Other people are in the same situation as me, but they have overcome this situation, but I don't, because I'm afraid to speak in front of people. Therefore, today's class made me reflect on myself and try to improve my public speaking skills in the future.

In the morning, I wake up as usual at 10 am, then I saw the message sent by madam. The content was: “Today we did not public speaking class and tell us to need to attend the Facebook Live with the theme of "UUM Menghargai Ibu & Ayah (UMI) melalui Seni: Kasih Keramat Sejati" and the duration time is 2 hours. However, the hosts have some technical problems, so the FB Live was postponed until 10.20 am started. Throughout the live show, there are many band shows, concerts, short videos, and poetry that have been performed in between. These are really good because they have made the live show more interesting. Moreover, I found that they were meaningful indeed as they brought certain values that should be understood and appreciated by us. The poems namely "Kasih Sayang Keramat Sejati" and "Pengorbanan Ayah dan Ibu" remind us to appreciate and care for our parents since we are their offspring, and we cannot deny how much they sacrificed for us.
Although we did not have class, but the live al have a lot of things to let us learn. The FB Live show introduces us to moral principles, which we should not dismiss since they are crucial in representing our inner self and identity. In short, I was very excited to attend the FB Live.

Today is the last class of public speaking, madam share attendance with us as usual and started chatting. During the chat, madam said that she will be our lecturer next semester, it will make me very happy and there is another exciting news, that is, we can recommend activities for next semester's courses! We finally have sports activities. Then, we can finally meet with our classmates next semester. It's really exciting!
In addition, madam didn't attend class but helped us check the group task, that is, the infographic and gave relevant suggestions such as adding the group members' names and student numbers under the infographic. In addition, madam also discussed the video of individual speech with us and gave us enough time to finish it. Madam set a deadline for this task, that is, 2.12.2021. Finally, madam is very satisfied with our performance because we are very cooperative with the teacher's request. This semester, I learned a lot about public speaking from madam, and I am very happy that she can be our lecturer.

GROUP TASK REFLECTION
When Madam gave this task, our group had already assigned their respective parts after the end of class. And in just two weeks, we have already finished this task. I am very glad that my team members are so energetic, and I sincerely thank them because all of them fully demonstrated their cooperation and teamwork skills and accelerated the completion of the task.
After that, I want to discuss the behaviour of each team member. Every time we discuss, all the members actively express their opinions, so in the process of discussion, we can effectively know what their respective ideas are and form a brainstorm. Let me give you an example. As a leader, Kai Sheng is really outstanding. He led us in the whole process. He is responsible for every task. Similarly, he always guides us in our discussions, and his discussion methods always get positive results from us. When someone doesn't understand, he will explain carefully to ensure that each of us understands the requirements of the topic. When we disagree the point of each other’s, we will explain our arguments one by one, and we always choose the best argument as the content of the task. Jing Lin, she is a very active person. She will record what madam said, and then she will share the content with us, in case we miss something. In addition, during the discussion, she always actively expressed her unique opinions, and we agreed with her because she also understands questioning skills. When she doesn't understand, she will directly ask for a better understanding. Next is Zi Qing who is also an opinion provider and nice. Whenever she does not understand anything, she will ask questions in the group until she understands. Besides, she has the excellent understanding ability, and can always realize the problem and then discuss and solve it with everyone. Similar to Jing Lin, she will share what her wife taught in class which really reminds us of the details after class.
Cecelia who is an idea provider in our whole group discussion. I am glad to say that with her, our progress can be promoted because we have many ideas at hand! She is a very considerate girl who always cares about us. Besides, she wrote down many key points about group tasks in class and sent them to us. In addition, she is good at listening to our ideas and providing solutions to help us solve problems and help us design the Weebly website. Last is a Fatin. She is a helpful and patient person because she always helps Kai Sheng share the work of the draft script and Weebly design. During each discussion, they also showed great enthusiasm from expressing opinions to summarizing opinions, which were all very good and she also listened to and critical evaluation of oral messages for us. She always helps us when we are in trouble. She also shows collaboration and great teamwork skills to make the fast progress on the task.
Next, I want to evaluate our group’s discussion skills, understanding, and responsibility. Our group has been developing and promoting our discussion skills and coping ability because during every discussion, we always have differences of opinion. At this time, Kai Sheng will deal with the problem, and he will ask us to explain our opinions and the reasons why we disagree with others. I am very satisfied with this way of handling it because this way, the team members won't have conflicts due to differences of opinion. Besides, it can help us improve our discussion skills and communicate effectively. In addition, each of us is very serious in class. Whenever we encounter problems that we can't, I will ask questions in the group, and other members will actively answer my questions. We usually use WhatsApp and Zoom as the media for our meetings and discussions because we have opened the camera seem like face-to-face communication makes our communication smoother.
Finally, we can accomplish many tasks only through the efforts and efforts of the team members. If one person does not cooperate, our tasks can't be completed so smoothly, so I am very grateful to my peers for their efforts.

VIDEO SUMMARY (16/10/2021)
TITLE: ORGANIZATION OF SPEECH
VIDEO SUMMARY (16/10/2021)
TITLE: ORGANIZATION OF SPEECH
This video provides some common organization modes in public places. In the most basic sense, there are three parts of the speech, namely introduction, text and conclusion. Dale Carnegie summed up the speech organization by saying, tell the audience what you want to say, say it, and then tell them what you said. The text provides the content and details while the conclusion generally brings it back. Each of these three parts is very important to the audience's ability to understand your speech. This is a good start. To organize an effective speech, speakers need to consider how they will organize the main points and information in the main body of the speech, so that their information will have the greatest possible impact. There are many options for voice organization, and this video will focus on the most common methods.
One of the popular organizational models is Chronicle Organization. The information in speeches follows the time sequence, and some speeches use the time sequence organization to discuss a process spanning a long time. For example, this topic can also have a milder time frame, such as a speech designed for donors. Millions of people all over the world are trying to make a suitable peanut butter and jelly sandwich by decomposing this process step by step.
In addition, some lectures will use causal models to decompose information. When using causal organization, there are usually two main points, one is to discuss the cause of the event, and the other is to discuss the result. According to the topic under discussion, causality can be used. Effective in informative or persuasive speeches. If the causal relationship is known and consistent, such as the link between long-term smoking and increased cancer risk. A classic example of memory device is roygbiv to remember that the colors of rainbow are red, orange, yellow, green, blue and indigo. Moreover, the abbreviation fast can also be used to help the audience quickly remember the key points and time of face-to-arm speech.
