Work Experiences Are More Important Than Education
Persuasive Speech
Good morning to madam Noor Aida and my dear group E friends. Today, I want you to spend time with me just for a few minutes by listening to my speech entitled work experiences are more important than education.
I know, some of us are or have been thinking about such things. Sometimes, this issue becomes a dilemma for a person whether to seek work experience or decide to continue studying. Before I start, I would like to tell you first that whether looking for work experience or continuing to study, both are best for a person because both are good for the person including myself.
Such issues often hover in the mind of someone who has just graduated. For example, a person has completed a degree, then he or she does not know what his or her direction is after graduation. are you looking for a job in order to gain a lot of experience in the field of employment or continue studying at the master's level? the answer is to find a job to gather a lot of experience. Therefore, I will give 4 reasons why work experiences are more important than continuing to study.
First, when there is a need for additional staff, an employer will look to fill the position with a new employee. Employers want efficient and skilled employees. They require a further somebody who is capable of assisting them in whatever task it is that has to be completed, and they require this to occur as quickly as possible. They do not hire workers only to have a backup workforce available. When it comes time to get their hands dirty, an employee who has only the required education but no previous job experience will not be able to complete the tasks that need to be accomplished. Someone more knowledgeable than them will need to instruct them on how to proceed.
Second, students have a better chance of standing out from the crowd during the job application process if they have previous work experience. This is because work experience provides a wonderful opportunity to build key employability skills. There is a lot of competition for jobs that need a graduate level education, so having previous work experience can help increase the likelihood of being selected from the large number of applications. Therefore, students who have previous job experience have an advantage since companies accept the experience listed on their resumes, which increases the likelihood that such students will be contacted for an interview.
Besides, work experience also enables students to apply what they have learned outside of the lecture. Through practical experiences, students can understand what it's like to operate in a fast-paced business setting as part of a team. They may feel for the first time what it is like to be managed. They can increase their knowledge of a company's culture and operating procedures. There are also possibilities to acquire technical skills, which will assist students identify their strengths and improvement areas. Even experiencing the routine of a typical workday can be really beneficial. Managing a diverse task within a professional team will foster time management skills. It will offer pupils with an opportunity to demonstrate their dependability and accountability.
The last one is the greatest benefit of getting work experience is gaining real-world insight into a field of students who are considering for a future career. Gaining the appropriate work experience might help students determine if the initial industry choice is the correct one to pursue in the future. Similarly, employment experience may reveal that the day-to-day tasks associated with a particular industry were not what you anticipated, preventing you from taking further action. Either scenario can be quite beneficial since it clarifies any misunderstandings and helps you visualize and comprehend what might be expected of you if you were offered a job in that sector.
In conclusion, between seeking work experience and education, seeking work experience is better. I am not saying that education is not important, yet students can continue education at a higher level while working because the work experience is something very valuable.

Today is the first day class for session A212. As always, on the first day of the meeting, we need to appoint a new committee member for this semester. Therefore, we as a classmates agreed to choose who was eligible to be chairman. Appointments are made in a simple manner only, where for anyone who has never held any such position should be given a name to become a new committee member.
While waiting for the newly appointed committee members, the other students were asked to read and understand the slides given by Madam. The slides are about the implementation of KLK. Madam asked for our opinion on whether we want to implement KLK or not. If we agree to implement the KLK, we must create a program or do any outdoor activities that related to our course. So, a representative from our class created a google form for students to choose “yes” or “no” to implement KLK. The result is “no”. The percentage who voted “no” was higher. Madam agrees with the decision. So, for this semester, we do not held any programs. Everyone was okay with that.
After the newly appointed committee members, we discussed the activities we wanted to do during the last day of the meeting. Among the suggested activities are picnics, hiking, go carting, lunch together, study tours etc. However, any agreement is still in the planning.
Today’s meeting was so much fun as we were able to reunite with classmates and Madam Noor Aida.

Today is the second day of our class. For today session, we are learning a new thing which is about "persuasive speech". Persuasive speech is a speech given with the intention of persuading people to agree with us. Typically, sales promoters will use persuasive speech to get customers to buy the product they are selling. There are many other parties who often use persuasive speech, for example such as lawyers, scammers, teachers, politicians, and so on.
After we discussed with Madam about persuasive speech, Madam asked us to watch the videos and slides that had been uploaded on Online Learning. Once we have watched the videos and read the slides provided, we must discuss with the group members. Madam create a breakout session on Webex for us to discuss among the group members. Each person in the group is assigned a respective task.
Our group created an infographic-shaped slide. The slides are from the Canva application. The slide is titled “Persuasive Speech 101”. Then, representatives from each group will present on what persuasive speech is. Our group was represented by Chuah Kai Sheng. His presentation was very interesting and very good.
We were also instructed to find a suitable title as we had to make our own persuasive speech. I chose the title "Work Experiences are More Important Than Education". Madam asked us to make the speech on Weebly and make a recording of our speech presentation, then upload the video recording on YouTube.
Overall, I am very happy today to be able to learn and understand new things. My excitement also increased when I remembered that Hari Raya Aidilfitri is only in two weeks from now.

Today’s class was a lot of fun as we created our unexpected activities. Atthe beginning of the class, group 2, 4, 6, and 8 have to make a presentation on Joko Widodo's speech that has been uploaded on the Online Portal. All four groups sent representatives for each group to present, and all was very good. I am the presenter of group 4.
After all the presenters finished making their presentations, Madam gave us the task that we should choose a Hari Raya song and translate the lyrics of the song into English. Then, we have to sing the translated lyrics in class. I admit that this activity is a bit hilarious but a lot of fun! I laughed a lot in class while watching my classmates sing. From there I could see their perseverance. They are very good in singing. Good job to my group and all my classmates!

Today is the fifth meeting for group E. Before starting the class, Madam will ask about how we are whether we are in good condition or not. Madam also often cared and concerned about us and took note if we had any problems during our stay on Campus. That's we love Madam Noor Aida.
Today's activities are also fun and so simple. Each group is instructed to find an interesting movie or drama. Yes, any kind of movie, any kind of drama. Horror, cartoon, or even thriller. After that, each group must send a representative as a presenter to present about what is interesting about the chosen movie. The presenter should persuade the audiences so that the audiences are interested in watching the movie that recommended by the presenter. This activity is to train students on the persuasive speech techniques that we learned in this semester. Our group chose the movie Spiderman: No Way Home 2021. A movie that is of interest to many especially Marvel fans.
Each group has recommended a varied and interesting movies. Some groups managed to persuade the audiences, but some did not. For groups that do not have time to make a presentation, the presentation will continue at the next meeting. In any case, the activities in the classroom today are very enjoyable.

Today's class will be followed by a presentation for groups that have not yet made a presentation. Over a time, I can better understand that this persuasive speech is not as easy as I thought. This is said so because, the speaker has to find a way on how to interest the audiences to agree with the speaker’s speech. If the audiences does not agree and they are not interested, then that is a sign that the persuasive speech is not successful and should be improved further. Such activity have a profound effect on us as students of public speaking courses. Thank you to Madam Noor Aida for handling this kind of activity because we can learned something from it.
After all the groups finished making their presentations, Madam gave us all the opportunity to discuss with each other about what activities we want to implement on the last day of class which is next week. We need to give suggestions whether to do outdoor or indoor activities. Our chairman, Fazril, led the discussion. Everyone gives their opinion.
Then, after discussing it together, a final decision was made. Next week, we will have a potluck activity and play some exciting games. For the potluck, each group is required to bring their own food. This activity is carried out at TM Hall, starting at 12.30pm to 2.30pm. We decided to do an indoor activities rather than outdoor due to the short period of time. In addition, each group is also given a separate task that must be done on the day of the meeting. Our group was selected to be assigned in the technical division.
Madam agrees with our decision and Madam hopes everything goes smoothly.

ICE BREAKING SESSION
WAREWOLF GAME
|
Today is the last day for group E. After being together for 4 semesters, finally, today is the last day we spend time. On this day, we meet each other. Even though it was our first time face to face, but a lot of wonderful memories and recollections happened today. As promised, we all gathered at TM Hall at 12.30pm. Many activities we carried out during our meeting period. Oh before that, I want to show you my group members <3 p/s: look at first picture
During this last meeting, we planned to have a potluck and play some exciting games like ice breaking, warewolf and musical chair. At the beginning of the meeting, we enjoyed a meal first before the start of the game. Many foods are available today such as puddings, pisang goreng, keropok lekor, curry puffs, cakes, spaghetti and more. All the foods are DELICIOUS!! I LIKE IT SO MUCH!!! The first game we played was ice breaking where we had to describe our first impression of someone and write that impression on a piece of paper taped to the back of a friend. Then a warewolf game where we have to find out who the five real killers are. This game is funny and besttt! Lastly is the musical chair. We had to scramble for seats after the song was stopped. The game was also a bit challenging but we always laughed throughout the game hahaha. What a memory <3 Anyway, if there is a problem that occurs during the game is still ongoing such as a technical problem, the team on duty will immediately solve the problem. When all the games are over, then the activities for today has end. Before dispersing, our class chairman, Fazril, gave a speech for the last time. The farewell speech given by Fazril had a very profound impact on us. Although we have never met before, we still spend time during the meeting every Saturday. From the first semester to the fourth semester, many assignments and obstacles we faced together. Madam Noor Aida always gives a positive vibe to us as her students. In fact, a lot of things we learned from the Ko K Public Speaking club. Last but not least, I am very grateful to belong to this group. every memory we have together I will never forget. Goodbye my classmates, goodbye group 4.. THANK YOU EVERYONEEEE ! Much love xoxo
